UMC International was recently contracted to carry out an extensive repair and maintenance program of work on HMS Gloucester. Due to the vessel having just completed a maintenance period (FTSP) the program did not allow for a docking – so the work had to be tackled afloat.

UMC International, has recently been awarded an exclusive contract to supply hull cleaning and associated services to US Navy, Coast Guard, Army and Military Sealift Command ships and craft operating in the Arabian Gulf, Red Sea and Mediterranean. In doing so UMC has replaced, at its first attempt, the long-term incumbent contractor Scamp.

The first joint venture project between Cathelco and UMC International has been completed at the Yonderberry fueling jetty at Torpoint in Plymouth.
