Since its early days, UMC has built a worldwide rapid response network specialising in waterborne maintenance technology for commercial, naval and offshore vessels.
The research and development of innovative afloat maintenance products and services has always been a cornerstone of UMC to reduce the need to dry dock, allowing vessels and platforms to remain at sea, earning and operating.
We encourage and provide ongoing maintenance contracts for both commercial and naval fleets for hull cleaning and propeller polishing.
Hull Cleaning
The ongoing research and development of new-generation hull cleaning equipment has set the company at the forefront of understanding how to successfully clean the latest low surface energy coatings currently in service.
Propeller Polishing
UMC has developed a propeller-polishing tool to produce an industry standard surface finish of 0.5µ Ra. Because the cost of the underwater polish will only be a small proportion of the fuel savings, the most important factor to be considered by the customer is the quality of the polishing.
Worldwide Inwater Surveys
With major Classification Approval, UMC ensure that their equipment is optimised to match the prevailing underwater conditions by using CCTV and high resolution cameras that are sensitive to low light levels. We also have the ability to include CAD generated drawings.
